About The Artist
Alexander Mosquera (AM) a Washington, D.C. based artist, was raised in the lush rainforest of Colombia., he spent his days marveling at the riot of colors, textures, and sounds that surrounded him. The magic realism of his childhood played a key role in shaping his desire to represent the natural world through his art
The Media
I embrace a multitude of mediums, from the vibrant hues of acrylics to the bold strokes of crayons. Conventional materials on canvas are just the tip of the iceberg for me. I believe that working within the boundaries of a single medium stifles my creativity. Each new idea deserves its own artistic expression, and I revel in the opportunity to bring them to life through a variety of mediums
The Inspiration
I find endless inspiration in the beauty of nature and the experiences gained from traveling the world. My artwork is a reflection of the moments of joy and wonder that I have encountered along my journey. The vibrant rainforests and breathtaking landscapes that I have been fortunate enough to witness have left a lasting impression on my art.
The simplicity and emotion conveyed in Mark Rothko's work, the freedom of expression in Jackson Pollock's paintings, and the brightness and vitality of Vincent Van Gogh's art have all deeply influenced my own artistic journey. These masters have inspired me to strive for authenticity and honesty in my own art, and to find joy in the creative process
